That requirement is only added in Exercise 3, and also required by Advanced Exercises A1 and A2. Now your actual instructions are for modified Exercises 1 and 2, and are NOT for the one in the YouTube video, which is Advanced Exercise A1 that uses both Pump 1 and Pump 2, and the selector switch Position 'A' for a single batch only.
